Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, more commonly known as Doctor Eggman, is the primary antagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is a rotund, genius-level scientist with an IQ of 300, driven by a relentless ambition to conquer the world and build his own Eggman Empire.

Eggman's signature is his expertise in robotics and machinery. He frequently constructs elaborate robotic contraptions, often incorporating animal components (particularly Badniks), to carry out his evil schemes and thwart Sonic's efforts.

Driven by a powerful ego and an unwavering belief in his own superiority, Eggman views Sonic as his ultimate nemesis and consistently seeks to defeat him. Despite his repeated failures, he never gives up on his ambition, ensuring his constant presence as Sonic's arch-rival. While primarily portrayed as an antagonist, some iterations show a degree of respect or even reluctant cooperation between Eggman and Sonic when faced with a larger threat.

He is known for his booming laugh, his monocle, and his iconic walrus moustache.
